So the site hasn’t been updated in a good month, that I know. I have a few things to be added soon. I have just been busy with school and work. I got a job at a cosmetics store. I get paid to play in MAC all day! Well, not really… I’m being paid to do other things… but in downtime I’m allowed to play with all the makeup I want!!
I just wanted to point out that EVERY month we have a new contest. I don’t always mention it in a blog, like I am now, so you have to look off to the right side panel.
Also, there are read & win give-a-ways. These are super easy. All you have to do is comment on the blog post and at least 5 people have to do so within a week. There’s a read & win give-a-way 2 entries down, so don’t forget about it!
I have a ton of updates coming this week, stay tuned!
I just realized I never put up the summer lookbook. I never finished it all the way, but summer is almost over so might as well post it, right? I’m going to begin working on the Fall one from NOW so when September hits it will be READY. It’ll also look more professional. Check it out here. It’s only two pages. Ignore the previous link on the first page, and the next link on the second page.
Twice a year mark comes out with 3 new Flip For It’s. What’s a Flip For It you ask? It’s a makeup kit that includes 2 eye shadow’s, 1 blush, 2 lip colors, and 2 lip glosses. It comes in a convenient mirror compact that flips (one side has the eyeshadow and blush, the other side has the lip products).
Being that I am a mark representative after a while it seems that I have way more stuff than I need. This included the Flip For It’s. I have a stash of them. So when I found out mark was introducing new ones I wasn’t excited. I mean, did I really need MORE? And the answer? YES!!!
And what made me change my mind? The South Beach compact! Specifically, that pretty blue eyeshadow it comes with! OMG I am in love with this color. It’s not too matte, not too sparkly and just a pretty color overall. When I originally used the compact I put the lighter shade (Deco) all over my eyelids and used the blue color (Ocean Drive) to line my eyes. This is pretty simple compared to what I usually dobut OMG, trust me, that’s all I needed. Even though I only lined my eyes with the blue it stood out so much and made my eyes pop. And the lighter shade lit my face up. And the application is so simple anyone can do it.
But moving on from the eyeshadow. It also comes with a blush and 4 lip colors to choose from to compliment your eyes. The blush (Golden Glow) is perfect for any skin tone and gives you the perfect bronze shimmer without over doing it. And the lip products stay on your lips forever!! I like walking around with my FFI’s in my purse but to be honest, I almost NEVER have to reapply anything. It all stays on.
Worried you don’t have the correct makeup brushes to apply these products right? No need! They come with them for FREE!!!
And another one of my favorite things about this compact? It’s very woman of color friendly. The eye shadow’s showed up with no problem on me.
The FFI’s won’t be available to buy until another week and a half (when they are though, you can find them here). But for one lucky reader of this site, you can win one NOW!! That’s right!

[EDIT 6/12] So all the new pages are done, and so is the summer look book. I’m currently not home but when I am, I’ll put the links up for them. Or try to do it sometime tonight if I’m not busy.
The June contest winner is Marie L. She won the book “Fabulosity” by KLS. The new contest is now up. More details on that later in an upcoming post.
The summer guide will also be up by today. I don’t want summer coming and going and the guide still isn’t up! And I’ll begin working on the Fall edition tomorrow. That one will definitely be up way on time.
And there are a few new pages/articles I have worked on. I am currently experiencing problems accessing the site on my laptop though so those new pages/articles will be up a little bit later. As well as a post explaining July’s contest and theme.
New Page(s):
Someone asked a question in the post below. I wasn’t sure if I should answer it in the comments, blog, or just e-mail them. So I decided something better! Install an question and answer script! So check out our new q&a Beauty Database!
And the summer guide I have been working on should be up today! I will force myself to work on it if I have to! It’s been long overdue!
I thought it would be “cute” and give the site a little bit more purpose if we had a theme each month. So each month a theme will be picked, and a good amount of articles/blogs will be related to that theme. The monthly contest will also be related to that theme if possible.
Starting with this month, June… the theme is “Not too late to do great!”.
After the mid-year resolutions blog and the May contest entries, I thought this would be the PERFECT theme. It’s never too late to work on a personal goal or progress yourself. So this month we will be focusing on how to get you to where you want to be!
If you have an idea for a theme we can do in an upcoming month don’t be shy to comment! And be sure to tell me what you think about the theme idea!
